Barcode Help

The Universal Product Code (UPC) is the most common type of barcode that you will see. You need to enter all 12 digits along the bottom, in this case 041771491000. Sometimes the first and last numbers are elevated to the middle of the bar code, or printed with a smaller font. Don't miss them!

ISBN is the preferred barcode for books. Although a book may also have a UPC barcode, you have a better chance of finding it if you use ISBN. ISBN is the 10 digit number on the top, in this case 0201700735. Don't worry about the hyphen. And if you see an "X" at the end, just ignore it. Frucall is smart enough to determine that! Alternatively for books, you can enter the bottom code, which is called EAN. It's thirteen digits, in this case 9780201700732.
